Data Architecture

Definition:

The strategy and execution of how data is designed (i.e., identified and defined) to support the enterprise objectives.

Commentary:

Data architecture is one of the subcomponents of enterprise architecture. It is important to have integration between business architecture, data architecture and technology architecture.

Data architecture includes, but is not limited to:
– Data domains
– Data glossary
– Logical and physical data requirements
– Metadata
– Models
– Ontologies
– Taxonomies
